Description: Alfanoose was founded in 1999 by Mouhamad Shami in New York City's Financial District. Shami is a lover of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and a purist at heart. Alfanoose came about, mainly because of his disappointment in finding true Syrian/Lebanese food in New York.

Great little place; wonderful service, tasty food and good value for money. Just need to get advertising consistency on their business address! It is actually located at 64 Fulton Street not number 150 nor at 8 Maiden Lane.

Maiden Lane between Broadway and Nassau Street has a bunch of restaurants, and so over the last several weeks since we moved into the neighborhood, we have been trying out these various establishments. Alfanoose is our favorite thus far. We stopped in for dinner, paid a reasonable amount, stuffed ourselves, and had enough leftovers for another big meal.

And if you're like me, and you like lamb spiced with mint, baba ganoosh, falafel, stuffed grape leaves and all the other dishes that scream Lebanese food, Alfanoose is the place to be. The dining room is large and fairly basic, and yes, for dinner it is rather quiet. But the service is friendly - just our first time visiting, and already we were being treated like regulars. We will be back, and I wouldn't be surprised if we did become regulars!

maybe it was because of the weekend, but the food we got was burnt and cold. not very recommendable and we payd about 27$ for a meal for 2 and 2 bottles of water. unfortunately the waiter did not respond to our complaints, so we left more than the half and went somewhere to eat someting, made with some respect to food.
unbelievable, that lonely planet leaded us to this moloch....

This place is great - well run, clean & excellent Middle Eastern food. Except for the traditional 12-1:30 lunch "hour" its often quiet and empty - but don't let that fool you into thinking they aren't busy. The delivery & to go orders fly out the door all day long.
The felafel is excellent as is the chicken shwarma. Hummus is great and the salads all very fresh.
Recommended if you are looking for a nice lunch at a reasonable price.
