“Hidden gem - good food, great service”
Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

The atmosphere is very lacking, but the food and service makes up for it. DH and I each had pasta dishes that were tasty and plentiful, and a couple could easily split a dish.
The prices seemed a little high, but after considering the location its probably not over-priced in comparison to restaurants in the same locale.
Our daughter usually eats cheese pizza but was recovering from the flu and the waiter brought some warm plain Italian bread (not garlic) after overhearing her balk after trying it. He also gave her plenty of Parmesan cheese and at least she ate something.

“Rustic Italian”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Popped in with the family after a trip to the Rockefeller centre. Very enjoyable lunch. Kids shared a pizza and took some home as it was so large.

To be fair, I'd have not gone in as it doesn't look great from the outside and isn't 5 stars inside, but the tripadvisor reviewes gave me confidence. Glad I did, as we enjoyed it. Happily go back.

We were there around 1pm, so the lunch crowds where heading out; could be a bit of a scrum at lunchtime.

“A "taste" of Italy”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Walking by this restaurant last night, on our way to a show, we were invited in by a nice gentleman standing in the doorway. We were talking about where to stop for dinner, and decided to go inside and see what it was all about. Well, I can tell you right now that we had a wonderful dinner (salad and pizza) - and the atmosphere was just like dining at a small restaurant in a neighborhood in Italy. The food was great, and well priced - and it was truly amazing how easy it was to forget where you were and pretent you were back in Italy eating some super fresh and yummy Italian food. I say, "go try it" - I know for sure that you will not be disappointed!

“Good food, people and prices”
Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

Visited here after reading all the great reviews and were pretty happy with what we found. A no frills old school Italian restaurant with reasonably priced wine which is hard to find in NYC. Our food was really nice and a good price ranging from $15 to $20 for main meals. Don't be fooled by the front of the building as the service is friendly and a good place to visit for a quick meal.

“the real italian food in new york!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

In a typical italian restaurant we were welcomed by a very kind person and we ate the most traditional italian dishes that were cooked perfectly and they were delicious. The prices were surprising because the portions were very large and we drank an original italian wine (three
