Description: The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

Had a wonderful brunch here and this was a return visit after being here 3 years ago. And it was just as good as before. Lovely place that is larger than it looks from the outside. They move the tables at a good speed so I don't think there is much of a wait ( and we were there on a Saturday and there was no wait at all for us at prime brunch time!). You don't feel rushed but the staff is efficient and your food comes quick. Good coffee and eggs and cheese sandwich. Bread is a bit dry and pancakes not worth eating. But love the atmosphere and the staff so would come back and figure out the good stuff on the menu.

Get to Sunday brunch in Soho before the crowds. Opens ahead of other Soho brunch spots. Everything is good and you get all the real Vermont maple syrup you want. Hate those small syrup cups. Place has been there since 1977 so must be doing something right for all meals.

Been a few times in visits to NYC. It's in a great location to kick off with breakfast before heading out to ship Soho for the day. Love the interior, kind of what you expect a NY cage to be. The French toast breakfast did just the trick. Generous size portion and yummy.

A perfect place to go for breakfast in Soho, their service is really good and friendly and the food is great. Also, although it gets busy at lunch, here are really not many people there in the morning which makes it a nice and quiet start of the day.

This is a very famous brunch spot in soho, almost impossible to get a table without 10-15 min wait. I was surprised with this busy, they were able to accomodate my request in the menu about customizing my scrambled egg and top it off, it tasted good.
