Description: The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

“Nice place for brunch”
Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

I went there for brunch and ordered my favourite: eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. It was a big portion, and there was too much salmon in my opinion. The hollandaise sauce was a bit too mustardy but I have to say I'm very picky about this dish as it's my absolute favorite for brunch. My friend ordered some eggs with bacon and it was delicious.
The service was effective and nice. The atmosphere and deco is very nice. The only thing is that we were by the door and it was a bit cold when people came in.
Overall a nice place to have brunch, very cosy.

Amazing Orange juice. Service is fast, friendly.
Visited on New Year's Day and can't complain. Food is very good, try the blueberry pancakes, the croissants, eggs Benedictine.

“Great local brunch place.”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Six uf us went here for brunch on a recent rainy Saturday. The place was packed and we waited by the bar. Without asking, the bartenders presented us all with a glass of hot apple cidar which added warmth to an otherwise chilly day. What a nice gesture! We were seated in a few minutes and we all had bellinis or mimosas. Then our orders were eggs benedict, french toast with bacon, and cheeseburgers spread among us. The French toast was excellent. It was served with Vermont maple syrup and a small portion of fresh fruit. The bacon was crisp and tasty. My wife loved her eggs benedict and the other couple enjoyed their cheeseburgers. The tab was $225 including drinks and tip. Service was ok and waiter was helpful. This is a fun place for a small group.
