Several blocks away from the main tourist routes means that majority of the people who eat here are locals. We were slightly amused by the decidedly middle-aged clientele during Sunday late lunch-time, but it certainly lent to a quieter, more relaxed dining. The restaurant was not completely full, but it did feel as if our food took a little bit longer than necessary to arrive. Nonetheless, the service was quite attentive and the food was very good, of a not-too-fancy, main-staples-of-French-cuisine variety. Everything we ordered was quite tasty - I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We were pleasantly surprised by this charming French bistro recommended to us by the Waldorf Astoria. The only thing better than the wonderful food was our lovely and attentive server, who managed to handle eleven tables with great ease. There were both plenty of French people and regular customers dining with us...always an encouraging sign.

We ordered mussels, veal stew, red snapper, beet salad with goat cheese and mushroom soup. Every dish was delicious. I recommend reservations as every table was taken.

A cozy French Bistro in Manhattan. Friendly staff, good service and great food. It is small and intimate. Eat like a local. No tourists here. It is off the beaten path but well worth the trip.

Was delighted to realize that Deux Amis does a brunch...the prices were reasonable, the setting lovely and dinners have been very tasty. Brunch service was extremely slow--we had to ask for someone to take our orders and then we waited and waited for our food. When it came, it was not very tasty. I had crepes which had no taste...crossant eggs were not very tasty either....merguez was better than ok...
Dinner, yes-brunch needs work..
