“Had coupon and was still overpriced. If there was a 0 score I'd give it to them”

We booked this cafe because it was close to the theatre and we had a 25 dollar gift certificate through restaurant.com. Well we get there and it has a bar right in the front, so that was a major down side. Then we order the food and it was horrible! not a very big selection my husband ended up getting mac and cheese because of that and because they had no garlic bread. The waitress acted like she didn't care, we had to ask her every time when we needed a refill because she never asked. and to top it off, they charge you 3 bucks per glass of soda and 2.50 per glass of tea. so needless to say we ended up overpaying 45 bucks on top of the 25 dollar gift card and it was sooo not worth it. with all the restaurants in New York..DO NOT GO TO THIS ONE! oh and we reserved a table online but apparently they don't take reservations online..so don't waste your time.

“Good food, good prices”
Reviewed January 19, 2011

The atmosphere here is great. The food is pretty good, though the service is slow. We didn't have anyone check on us until we finished most of our food- and my order wasn't correct, but by the time we got to tell someone, we were ready to leave.

“Perfect stop for a quick bite before a show”
Reviewed November 10, 2010

We stopped in for a quick dinner before a show and we were assured we could get out quickly. They certainly gave us excellent service and every bit of food was fabulous!!
The nice Italian baguette slices with fresh ricotta sprinkled with capers and chopped olives that they brought to the table was to die for!!
Great crabcake and pulled pork sandwich! Perfect sweet potato fries!

“Excellent Comfort Food, Relaxed Atmosphere, Easy On The Wallet”
Reviewed December 21, 2009

I have come to really enjoy this place. Situated on a busy block on 9th Avenue, Film Center features upscale cuisine with generous portions, at diner prices. The menu is varied and features everything from pot stickers and spring rolls to a delicious pear and pommegranate salad, pork chops, and a fabulous mushroom risotto cooked to perfection. Service is pleasant and quick. The menu also features a wide range of moderately priced wines and a full bar.

Although very busy, the noise level is moderate and you almost never have to wait for a table. A great alternative to all the mediocre restaurants in and around the theater district.
