Description: What used to be a garage in the 20's is now a casual American restaurant famous for its live Jazz & late night meals. Out-of-towners & locals alike dive into the a la carte dinners & Prix Fixe Brunches while watching the show. In the summer, the outdoor cafe is an airy spot for micro-brewed beers, raw bar selections & a wide range of fresh seafood & grilled steaks. In the winter, tables around the stone fireplace warm crowds.

We had a recommendation to go to Garage from our hotel. It was great music but the food was very fair at best. The steak was thin and overcooked. The shrimp tasted like it came out of a frozen food bag. The service was okay but i could not recommend this restaurant to others. It is a shame because the music is great. I would go there for a drink and elsewhere for dinner.

13 june after reccomandation we go to this restaurant. It' very disapointing very pricy, not so good quality for eating. The only good thing is the smiley waitress. Don't spend you money here it's to expensive. I know it's New York but we eat to a lot of other place for a better price , qualty and serviced. It's New York so you have thousand and more other better restaurant.

Six family and friends, gathered for the Memorial Day Weekend from around the country. One pair were jazz fans and their choice for dinner one evening was The Garage.

Although I am not a jazz aficionado, I found the atmosphere pleasant, the music not intrusive, the service was attentive, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our choices, cocktails, Asian Spring rolls, tuna tartar, soup, cornish hen split for two, Garage Shrimp, Lobster Ravioli, Sesame Salmon, Chimichuri Filet, coffees and cheese cake. All for $325 and all good to delicious. Quite an achievement for such a wide ranging menu, I think.

Plus we had the fun of a cool jazz club in Greenwich Village

We decided to book a table at Garage because we wanted to listen to some Jazz, but didnt want to pay a high entrance fee. Garage is free admission, but the prices for food and drink are slightly higher to reflect this.

We only had one course, but with a beer each, water and a cocktail (which was delicious) inc tax and tip it came to over $100. The food was tasty, and the jazz was fantastic- and we knew that we were paying for the whole experience. I noted that the Jazz standard charges $30 each entry, so the $100 bill including food didnt seem to bad- but it is not cheap.

We sat on the balcony, and had plenty of room. Service was as expected, but what is with waiters coming over as soon as they have given you a menu?! (Happened a lot in the US) i need time to choose what I am having! It was a bit dark in the restaurant though! Struggled to read the menu!

Service is a little on the slow and impersonal side. The food was very good though. If you're in the neighborhood and in a pinch for someplace to eat, it's okay.
