I have been meaning to go here for several years and finally did last night. I never should have waited so long. The whole experience was superlative from the service to the decor and the meal was French at its very best. The preparation was creative with a bit of fusion here and there but classically French. The presentation was also perfect. I had the smoked salmon appetizer on a potato gallette with arctic char as the main. The char was superb with pureed spinach and holandaise sauce on the side with a few dollops of char roe. My friend had the duck parpadelle for an appetizer and the duck with cherry sauce for the main. We tasted each other's dishes.
The dining room is elegant and bright. We sat in the window on Broadway.
For a meal of this quality we couldn't believe that the 3 course dinner was only $44. For this level of French cuisine one would easily pay twice as much or more in NYC. We also went with the wine pairing. The 3 selections were perfect matches for each course. I can't wait to return.
