Description: Whether you are joining us for lunch or dinner in our intimate dining room, weekend brunch on our outdoor garden patio or signature cocktails in our first-class bar and lounge - New Leaf truly has something for everyone. In 2001, New Leaf - formerly a New York City Department of Parks & Recreation concession - was re-imagined by Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project (NYRP). In 2015, COFFEED Corp, a NYC based restaurant company with a social conscious has taken over management of New Leaf. New Leaf offers a modern American menu that features seasonal dishes made with the finest locally grown ingredients. Guests dine in an unparalleled atmosphere of comfort and serenity, provided by the restaurant's cottage-like ambiance and gorgeous green surroundings.

We have been coming here for years, always excellent. Yesterdays brunch disappointing - The "lump meat" crab cake sandwich was claw meat, I have had it here many times before, yesterdays brunch was a big disappointment. Will we go back? Yes, but if we continue to see cost cutting measures that effect the food. We'll only be having their wonderful cocktails.

Great food, wonderful atmosphere. I love the Friday night jazz. Stop by after your visit to the Cloisters.

The New Leaf Cafe is one of those special places that need not be good. But is not just good but excellent.

The restaurant is housed in a beautiful cobblestone/slate/granite building with high oak beamed ceilings. Its windows and terrace offer superb views. The cafe is just steps from the Cloisters, the Metropolitan Museum's collection of medieval art in Fort Tryon Park in northern Manhattan. Although it's far uptown, buses 4 and 98 come almost to the doorstep, as does the A Train's 190th street stop. When the Cloisters closes in the early evening, the capacious bar is perfect spot for a drink. In warm weather, there is hardly a better place to be than on the beautifully landscaped patio.

As at other magical spots in New York City (The Central Park Boat House; Gaonnuri on the 39th floor on West 32nd Street; the outdoor patio at the River Cafe, Brooklyn), the food is as good as the setting.

At New Leaf, the choices are varied but limited giving Scott Campbell, the chef, time to perfect each dish, both its preparation and presentation. The wine list makes it easy to choose the right libation: Wines are grouped by heft -- Floral & Aromatic, Medium Bodied-Food Friendly, Full & Elegant-- making choice easy.

Proceeds go to Bette Midler's NY Restoration Project which rescues forgotten NYC parks and was responsible for the rehabilitation of Fort Tryon Park which surrounds the Cloisters. Ms. Midler's worthy organization also manages the restaurant. Kudos are due to the Divine Ms. M.

We could not not believe this. We stopped by this restaurant which was highly recommended after our visit to the Cloisters for lunch. It was 2 pm and the place was nearly empty. We were a party of four and we were told that our waiting time would be about an hour. So we left because they could not accomodate us on a weekday at 2pm with all the tables empty!! When we asked we were told that they had reservations for all the empty tables. .?!!?

We went to the Cloisters and stopped for lunch. Great Bloody Mary. Food was good and creative. The only place one should eat when visiting the Cloisters. Located in a beautiful park.
