“Christmas Dinner!”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Went into MSG to watch the Knicks get crushed by 29 points. However, the night got better when my family had dinner at Nick & Stef's. Our waiter was very friendly, helpful and patient. My youngest son has food allergies so our waiter was extremely helpful in finding out which selections on the menu he was able to have. From the bread to the entree to the dessert, he was very attentive. French onion soup and calamari were OK, but the salmon was unbelievable, cooked to perfection, tender, flaky yet moist. Creme brûlée was a little watery, but overall experience was excellent. A little pricey but you're in NYC, so what do you expect? Would go back again!

“Good restaurant if you are going to Madison Square Garden”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

We were staying in a hotel on 26th, and wanted to get a nice steak dinner. We noticed Nick & Stef's from some online reviews, and decided to try it.

The oysters were excellent as an appetizer. Bread was served only after we asked, but the selection of breads was excellent.

I had the New York Strip, while my friend had a Petite Filet. We added a side of Brussel Sprouts, which were done very nicely.

I would definitely go here again.

“Good but pricey”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Great location if you are on your way to Madison Square Gardens, a little misleading with pictures of burgers outside but only full a la carte style menu available for dinner. The food was good and so was the service, handy entry straight into a main entrance to MSG. I though pretty expensive for what it was and I am sure there are cheaper options in the area, but it was convenient and food good, so overall good experience.

“Skip it!”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

This dinner was definitely just ok. The restaurant is convenient to Madison Square Garden, but you have to figure out how to get in due to construction blocking the front door. The bartender told us of a secret door that leads you directly into the Garden from the restaurant, but upon leaving, the hostess told us we had to go outside to a nearby door, that turned out to be a Garden employee entrance. Seems no one had a clue as to what was going on in this place. We were there early but as the restaurant filled up, the noise level was extremely HIGH.

As for the food....The bread was harder than rocks, as if it was microwaved too long to try to get it soft to serve. We were told it was probably the old bread since they were not open the day before. A very common complaint from employees seemed to be the lack of business, as in the restaurant is "dead" when the Garden is closed, due to the construction blocking the entrance.

French onion soup was tasty but extremely salty. The medium rare Porterhouse we ordered, the meat was GRAY.....as if it was around forever. We are not the kind of people to send things back, but this had to go. It wasnt edible. They must not have turnover due to the "construction": that was mentioned again. Second choice Filet was good. Creamed spinich was ok. Everything is heavily salted. Ok wine list, not very big.

“Great value for steakhouse thru Dine-Out NY”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

The Dine Out NY offer spend $50 get $50 off keeps us coming back to Nick & Stef's year after year. Their prices are in line with other high end steakhouses in NYC. We were happily seated in a corner booth and had excellent service. The crabcake appetizer was tasty but a bit small. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly but too salty. The ambiance was nice but in need of a spruce up. Not sure how tourists can find this place since scaffolds have been obstructing the view for over 4 years now! No joke, 4 years! We keep laughing every time we pass by. The night we came was a WWF, sorry, WWE event and had a good chuckle seeing all the people waiting for wresting "celebrities" to pass by but it was just the two of us exiting the restaurant.
