Description: Our highly anticipated second Rosa Mexicano location opened in July 2000. Just steps away from Lincoln Center, this impressive David Rockwell-designed space features a 30-foot iridescent blue tile water wall that spans both levels of the restaurant and is adorned with 240 miniature cliff divers. Here you’ll also find a dramatic “floating” staircase made of orange and red terrazzo slabs and backlit panels behind the bar embedded with rose petals. Awarded “Best Restaurant 2000” by Interiors Magazine, this unique, contemporary look ushered in a new era for us at Rosa Mexicano.

“Homemade Guac but Service Lacked”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Food was amazing. They made the guacamole right at our table. Pomegranite margarita was terrific. Fish tacos, scallop/pork belly tacos, and enchiladas canitas were all really really good. Best fish tacos I've ever had.

Service was only fair. We said, "no salt" for margaritas but got it anyway. When we asked for ones without it, the server acted as if we hadn't asked for no salt in the first place. Mix up with my son's original order of lamb tacos took a long time to correct. Also, he originally got the gluten free menu by accident and again, the server acted as if it was somehow our fault. Weird.
Overall, I'd say if you're in the area and love Mexican food, give this place a try. It was pricy though. Guacamole app, three dinners, two alcoholic bevs and the check was just under $100.
The service wasn't wonderful but the food made it worth going. Definitely get the fish tacos and the guac.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The tableside prepped guacamole starts things out great, it's delicious and made to order right in front of you. From there everything went backwards to mediocre and stayed there.

The service was average, the food was average, certainly not not up to par for a Lincoln Center location. If there was another mid to upper scale Mexican restaurant in this neighborhood, this one would be out of business.

“Best restaurant near Lincoln Center”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Visited with family before a performance. It is always busy so have reservations. The main restaurant is on the 2nd floor up a staircase with a magnificen water wall with hundreds of small 'divers' mimicking a dive off a Mexican cliff. There is an elevator for ADA access.

We enjoyed the custom guacamole made at the table. It is delicious! For entrees we had the grilled fish, steak and shrimp, enchiladas and tacos. All were great. Didn't have time for dessert. the restaurant has an ice cream festival this August.

The atmosphere us upscale and fun. Enjoy!

“Hopping Place, but good food”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

The wait was long, but it was worth it. We ordered a large portion of freshly made Guacamole (at the table) and it disappeared in no time. Truly great. All dishes were a little more sophisticated than most Mexican restaurants serve and everyone enjoyed it.

“Great guacamole and chicken enchiladas!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

Go for the guacamole and the chicken enchiladas! The tomatillo cream sauce on the enchiladas is truly addictive. Their signature frozen pomegranate margarita is also worth a taste. I'd recommend going on a Monday night as it was a much quieter than our typical Saturday afternoon or evening visits.
