Our family members, who live all over the world, met in New York for a college graduation ceremony. The night before, we had dinner together. We had a number of dietary concerns to consider- vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, sober drinkers. And we picked Shula's;) Amazingly, everyone was accommodated from alcohol free cocktails, hard-core martini drinkers, to meat eaters and food allergy people. We even had one of our company in a wheelchair, and access was a dream.
The food was great- some of the best we've ever had. Tender steaks, great sea-food. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was fun and low-key for us- sort of a classy updated "Mad Men" set from the 50's. I would totally recommend this for a wonderful dinner anytime.

I've lived in NYC for 14 years and thought it'd be nice to visit a fun steakhouse when my boyfriend was in town from Maryland. He loves football and rare meat. He was not disappointed and neither was I! The location is sorta overwhelming as it's almost in the middle of Times Square, but the restaurant is on a lower level that takes you out of the chaos. Dim, romantic, and classy. Beautiful black & white football photographs, very red interior. The drinks were delicious and pretty on par for prices in Manhattan. I enjoyed a cucumber gin martini that was just right.

My gent had a giant 21oz Kansas City Strip ("I usually have a NY Strip, but this one is bigger, so why not?") rare. He was delighted. I had the larger Filet Mignon (12oz) medium rare and I ate only so much so the guy had some leftovers to soothe the pain of his 21ouncer being gone. I had a nice giant glass of red (many selections) with my meat. Perfect.

Crab Mac & Cheese was creamy good, but needed a little Old Bay or salt/pepper. Sauteed mushrooms were savory and tender. We were too full for dessert, but the selections were enticing.

It's a bit pricey, but we had a Groupon to ease that pain. This place still ranks of up there with the best steakhouses I've been to in NYC. Bonus? They put a football on the table with the menu. Kinda fun for the fans out there. I'd definitely go back or visit another location if I was on vacation. My man loves his meat.

Last but not least - excellent service. Thank you!

janecitizen, we'd like to thank you for writing a great review and we'd also like to thank you for choosing to dine with us. It sounds like our steak house was the perfect fit for your boyfriend! We're very happy to hear that you both fully enjoyed your experience at our restaurant.

It definitely sounds like you had a complete meal. From reading over your review, we saw your comments about our Crab Mac & Cheese needing a little more salt/pepper. We are going to pass this feedback along to our culinary team. During your next visit, you need to save room for dessert! We recommend our Molten Lava Chocolate Cake. It's great to share! (Only if you want to of course!)

My husband and I chose to eat at Shula's in NY for our anniversary, after eating at the the Shula's in Orlando, FL which was nothing less than awesome. The service at the NY location was exemplary. I read a few reviews before going and was skeptical because they spoke about the service and food not being good. We ordered from the pre theatre dinner menu. My husbands food was perfect, but I had a small problem with my steak and brought it to their attention, and the problem was immediately remedied. The chef, Baz Brown, came to our table at least three times to make sure we were satisfied. We were given the molten lava cake and another dessert free f charge. If there is a problem and customers sit by and do not say anything, and leave without giving the restaurant a chance to fix the problem then negative reviews should not be written. But, if you let the waiter know of the problem and they do not fix it, then you have reason to complain. Therefore, after reading some of the comments made by other patrons, and visiting this establishment for dinner, I know problems were not brought to their attention, because of my experience. This is the type of restaurant that will immediately address and fix the problem if brought to their attention. Great service and good food! Kudos to the chef, Baz Brown, and thank you for a great and lasting evening!

It's convenient cause it's in the Westin Times Square. And that makes it expensive and lacklustre. Usual breakfast stuff. You can eat breakfast better for far less money and unlimited bread choices across the street at Gourmet New York, or around the corner at Europan Cafe.

Shula's is a haven in busy Times Square. Gluten-free and child friendly! The welcoming staff and talented Chef Baz alone justify a visit, but the food will make you want to eat at Shula's again and again! Steaks so yummy, you'll regret leaving a bite behind.

SondraSPQR, we'd like to thank you for writing a fantastic review and we'd also like to thank you for choosing to dine with us during your time in New York City. We couldn't be happier to hear that you had a wonderful experience at Shula's.

From reading over your review, we saw you mentioned how we're both a gluten-free and child friendly restaurant. We understand that many individuals are starting to realize that they require food without any gluten in it. We want to ensure that these guests will have numerous delicious options to choose from. It's important to us that everyone has an exceptional meal, even the kids!

We love hearing back from patrons who love our steaks. We take great pride in both the quality and our cooking process. Less than 1% of beef makes our Shula Cut!
