We had the crab dinner special -- $50.
A platter of assorted amuses bouches was fine, although that gazpacho [about 2 tablespoons] tasted more like borscht.

The appetizer, billed as linguine with a crab sauce was OK, although the linguine was really spagettini and there were more minced veggies than crab in the sauce.

The main consisted of about four tiny soft shell crabs and a six inch finger of a crab leg, served with the re-purposed minced veggies that accompanied my appy. Nothing special.

All washed down with a $50 tasty Oregonian pinot gris.

The ricotta cheesecake dessert was delicious.

Service was verrry slow, which didn't bother me; but, my water glass failed to be refilled twice when the others' glasses were.

The Sea Grill is in Rockefeller Center which is worth seeing with its flags and humanitarian emphasis. The Sea Grill food is excellent by my standards. Its recognizable but unusual and offers a bit of adventure. The Key Lime pie is nothing like I've ever tasted before - familiar, delicious, out of the ordinary.

Visited NYC for several days to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We wanted to return to a restaurant that we have enjoyed in previous years. The first thing to hit us was the noise level generated by an adjacent bar and restaurant where the ice skating rink usually is, but we assume converts to an outside venue in the good weather. I have dietary restrictions and requested very specific easy changes to a seafood option. The chef either didn't prepare it as requested or the order was not put in properly. No matter, we had to wait until it was corrected and my husbands meal got cold. We asked for the Manager and she was lovely enough to come to our table and tried to make it right with a gesture on our check. Unfortunately, neither of our meals was all that good and the head banging music did not make for a special experience on our Anniversary There are too many other options in NYC, we won't be back.

Enjoyed lunch with good friends. Professional waiters and delicious food. Try the clam chowder and the crab cakes. They were perfect! :) Will be back.

So we decided upon a seafood outing whilst in NYC - quick look on tripadvisor and off we headed with the help of Apple Maps (not always accurate in big cities but good enough?)
TSG is accessed via a rather dirty looking lift
We were met with a glance up & down to be told they didn’t have a reservation for us - at this point worth mentioning it was was by no means busy. Being made to feel awkward I tried to find the confirmation to be told we’d got the wrong place (seriously they must get this ALL the time!) & this was the Sea Grill NOT Sea Fire Grill
After a slight awkward exchange between my partner & I we were told they could try find us a table

Badly handled - if they’d have just seated us without a fuss we’d have been none the wiser and they’d have been $400 up
Having said that a couple minutes and we were sat in the Sea Fire Grill - far better atmosphere & friendlier staff
TSG won’t be on our list for next visit! Shame as the menu looked pretty decent

(And to note TSFG said they get people getting the two mixed up all the time!!)

Thank Mashcat
