Description: This Old Chelsea food hall is a New York original. The Red Cat's combination of come-as-you-are sensibilities and straightforward, satisfying, and occasionally irreverent cuisine instantly establish the restaurant as a favorite with New York diners. As Frank Bruni wrote in the New York Times, "The Red Cat feels vaguely colonial and tavern like, except when it feels downtown-gallery cool, and apart from those moments when it feels modestly and eclectically elegant." If you are unable to book online, please call us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Lovely restaurant. Booking required as it is very popular. Had the chops with lentils which were wonderful. Everyone was happy with their choices. Service was attentive without being overbearing.
Good portion sizes. Definitely recommend.

Every time I come to NYC I eat here. The food is outstanding, the service impeccable and the food is unbelievable.

Me and my boyfriend ate here in March and just loved the food and service. If we ever come back to New York City, we shall make sure we come back to the Red Cat!

The MOST luscious spring pea ravioli -- it's the season where all the veggies are perfect, and you don't want them ruined by over zealous cooks who do tricks to mask their flavors. Kudos to the chef at Red Hat -- they were perfection. Also had Spicy Chicken Livers as an appetizer -- red chili sauce -- perfectly cooked. A happy feel about the restaurant -- locals and tourists and good food to make everything mesh. Go!!

I recommend reservations for this restaurant on 10th Ave and 23rd St, right by the Highline Park. My dinner was fantastic! I started with a large salad of sliced apples, greens, a soft mild cheese, and bacon cooked tempura style. The waiter described it as decadent and it was. The restaurant provides a vegetable menu in addition to the regular menu, so I ordered grilled trumpet mushrooms with asparagus. The mushroom slices were thick and meaty, topped with crunchy thin asparagus slices. Those two appetizers made a full meal for me. If you're in the neighborhood, try the Red Cat.
