Just lovely....book in advance though it's really poplular!!!! Great menu, lovely ambience, very NYC. The prices were reasonable for Greenwich, the also had a set price menu. We went a-la-carte, but for 4 people with wine and starters was around $250 USD (£180). Lovely inside, we went on a really hot day, but I bet it would also be very cosy if you are travelling in the winter too. The salmon was really good, and the chicken too.

Despite arriving for a late lunch at 15:30 the staff accommodated our group of 7 people. The majority ordered chicken fillet sandwiches that took long to arrive but their freshness was worth the wait ! Would definitely recommend. Nice decor too.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our anniversary - we usually struck out when trying to find classier prices that were still somewhat affordable. Thankfully, we stumbled across this gem in the west village. "The Place" has the combination of great ambiance, exceptional service and delicious food. Our waiter stopped by often, but another swung by in between his visits as well. The host was also very accommodating, offering us a place to sit as well as drinks as we waited for our table. I highly recommend this spot if you are going on a date or looking for a quiet, intimate place for friends or family.

It was raining hard last night and so we decided to find somewhere close to our apartment in the West Village. We have passed by this venue quite a few times - and the restaurant usually seems fairly busy and always looks nice from the outside. We didnt have a reservation but The Place found a nice table for 4 for us after a short wait with drinks at the small front bar. The staff at 'The Place' were friendly and welcoming - the atmosphere was warm and charming. We found the restaurant area to be (surprisingly) much bigger than it appears from the outside. But extremely cosy, the romantic atmosphere is enhanced with nice lighting and good mood music. The menu is simple but provides enough choice. The four of us selected our choices from the $30 'prix fixe' menu. From the starters, the Chargrilled Calamari tasted fresh and the Cold Green Pea and Mint soup was a delight. However, the Watermelon & Ginger salad was the standout in terms of flavor and impact. For mains, three of our group selected the Salmon which they described as outstanding. My Pork Cutlet, whilst tasty, was less impressive. We also selected three desserts to share. The Creme Brulee and Ice Cream sandwich were both nice - but the 'Chocolate filled Filo Parcel proved to be our crowd pleaser - and the signature dessert. In summary, the food was of a consistently high standard, the service was extremely friendly and the whole meal with drinks and 2 bottles of wine was well priced at $240 (not including tip). The Place is now my 23 year old daughter's current favorite restaurant in the West Village.

Met a friend from London who I hadn't seen in 10 years here for Sunday brunch. The food was fantastic, fresh, plentiful and delicious. It's tucked away and has a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly, helpful and engaging. Such a great spot.
