After waiting half an hour here for eggs and salad, my date and I walked out. The waitress - who told us "it'll be ready when it's ready -- warmly saw us off with the witty comment, "You're welcome not to come back".
I've lived in NYC for 22 years, so here's a tip: You don't have to settle for this kind of abusive treatment by miserable servers. If it happens, walk out like we did. There are plenty of good restaurants staffed by good people in this neighborhood and beyond.
