Great food, great service and big family size portion. Party of five shared a medium salad with two individual appetizers and a family size baked ziti. It was more than enough delicious food.

We ate dinner at Sambuca last night and it was wonderful. I found the restaurant on a gluten–free restaurant suggestion list on the web. We didn’t need reservations and were seated right away. The service was spot on and the food was delicious. They serve family style and individual Italian dishes. Decent portions of food. The gluten free menu had lots of variety. We don’t usually order desert but decided to try their gluten free brownie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was the best brownie I’ve ever eaten. Our dinner for four was about $120. The atmosphere was quaint and was suitable for dressy or casual attire.

We joined friends for a dinner before a show at Lincoln Center and had an unacceptable experience.
The food was subpar. The veal marsala I ordered was neither well seasoned nor tender; it was fully overpowered by thick tomato sauce. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs; the meatballs were acceptable, but the spaghetti undercooked; he likes it al dente. The salad was fine but uninspired with too little gorganzola to punctuate its flavors.
Service was poor. The waiter did not return after serving the dishes and was not nearby to call over to correct my dish. The manager came by after we were there for almost an hour. No prices were offered with the list of specials. There was no awareness of our time constraints although we had told them when we ordered.
There are many better choices in this neighborhood.

Very nice and friendly Italian eatery in a great part of town. This was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. Had a reservation and were quickly seated with our choice of seating. Staff were quick to wait on us and address questions. The atmosphere is nice, great place for couples as well as business dinner.

I had eggplant parmesian and was delicious. Sauce was homemade and not bitter as some marinara's are. Salad was a nice portion and drinks were very good. Highly recommend!

My favorite food has always been Italian, and the best I have found in Manhattan is on west 72nd street called Sambucca. The quality is always superb, the portions family style as well as individual size are generous. The staff lead by Katherine is extremely helpful. Have never had a disappointing meal, always come away smiling and FULL. Every visit to Manhattan includes a dinner there.
