“Very Good Food-Relatively High Prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

While the food at Indus Valley was good-the prices were a bit high for the neighborhood and Indian cuisine in general.
We did have a good time with our friends who live in the area and would consider going back once in a while.

“Don't Go”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014

Please don't eat at this restaurant the owners, Lakhvir and Phuman Singh pay the drivers 3$ hr! The food was just ok, Some yellow curry and the cucumber salad was pretty good, The wait staff seemed stressed. But the service was nice.

“Definitely steps in the right direction”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

For years the Indus Valley restaurant was solid three-and-a-half stars joint. However, in the interest of being completely fair, now is the time to bring it up a star in terms of rating. The restaurant really deserves fad extra star just for the flavor of their food. No matter if you are full-time vegan, or heavy meat addict you will be totally satisfied. The food is simply awesome. The top choice, as always goes to Lasooni Gobi (fried cauliflower in red sauce), but the halibut, garlic shrimp and cucumber salad can successfully compete with it. Decent wine menu to go with the food. And of course, as the quality and, thus popularity went up, the place progressively became dimmer, and it is now so busy that you actually need a reservation. Well done.

“It really deserves three and a half stars”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

The food is good, the place seems to be clean, the service is good and they even deliver. If you like really spicy food you will fit right in at Indus Valley. Order down, meaning if you think you can handle spicy, still avoid ordering vindaloo, or at least ask them to give you a milder version. They will listen, again, the service is pretty good. It is not a four star place because it is all the way in the upper west side and doesn't have neither a feel of a real authentic Indian place, nor the glamour of a new age "designer" restaurant. But if you are on Upper West Side and feel like eating some Indian food, this is your best choice. You will not be disappointed. Lasooni Gobi is very good there.
