Description: Le Colonial is a truly delightful culinary experience. Like stepping into French Colonial Southeast Asia, this two-story restaurant, designed by Greg Jordan, consists of a main dining room with louvered wall panels, colorful tile floors, and vintage photos of Vietnam. Upstairs is an elegant, but lively, lounge serving a full dinner or just appetizers and cocktails. The lounge serves as an ideal setting for private parties and business dinners. Le Colonial serves an authentic Vietnamese menu with an emphasis on fresh seafood, meats, and vegetables.

“Step Into the Past”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Enter the timeless elegance and professional service of colonial Vietnam. Old fashioned ceiling fans, wooden window shutters and a subdued feeling let you enjoy another era as you dine on very good cuisine, with a nice selection of wines, and champagne, by the glass. Well prepared food, in a lovely setting, with an unobtrusive and accommodating waitstaff creates the perfect dinner for two, or even a celebratory meal.

“Take a trip to old Saigon”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

A well-located spot that's very atmospheric. It's good for business meetings with tables nicely spaced and appealing dishes that are solidly composed with ingredients placed in tasty juxtapositions. The appetizers are wholesome and satisfying (the bowl of pho is almost a meal in itself) and the wraps are good for sharing. The upstairs and downstairs rooms are completely different in look and feel. And service is friendly and attentive.

“Nice Surroundings, Good Food”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Was curious to visit given the mixed reviews, particularly on some of the US restaurant sites.

Beautiful surroundings (we chose the upstairs eating area; dark but quieter than the main restaurant) in keeping with the colonial theme.

As somebody who spends several months a year traveling in Asia, I reckon the food was pretty good, compared to normal Westernised fare. Try the Aubergine for starters.

Service was a little hit and miss; staff not particularly friendly or attentive, but that was fine as I prefer not to be disturbed every five minutes.

Not cheap, but reasonable for quality of food and surroundings.
