I discovered the Doughnut Plant from the Food Network years ago and have been going every time I am in the city. My son and I have never had a bad donut from there and the blackberry is just amazing ! We tried the lemon yeast donut the other day and I love that they put lemon zest in the glaze so you have a nice balance and the almond cake donut was SO good !! I am a huge fan of the cinnamon bun and always make a point to get extra to freeze. They are packed full of cinnamon and raisins and just the most wonderful cinnamon buns I have every had. We were thrilled when they opened the location at 23rd & 7th Ave since they are opened later and we don't have the presure of rushing downtown before the Grand Street location runs out. The donuts range from around $ 2.00-$ 3.00 some would say a bit pricey but the yeast donuts are large ( cimmamon buns around $ 2.50 & huge ) and a wonderful treat. Well worth the trip.
