A friend took us there after a movie screening and was surprised by how busy it was, how good the food was, how reasonable the price was and how European the portions are. Refreshing.

My husband had the Creme Andalouse soup (served with salad, bread, wine, dessert and a drink), he really liked it! I had La Canadienne crepe (with salmon, cream cheese and scallions) which was really delicious! I also had the dessert du jour - Pear Almond Tart, it was surprisingly good. The pear was very fresh, it's perfect with toasted almond. Definitely will visit again!

I have been to La Bonne Soupe numerous times over a period of several years, and always recommend it to anyone I know visiting NYC. I've always had their very reasonable fixed price meal consisting of salad (love their salad dressing!), choice of soups, dessert, and wine or soda or coffee. The cost now is about $22 for this meal - lunch or dinner. When I first started going there, it was $14.95. In addition to this, they have a fairly complete menu. Great ambience as well.

The place is very popular among the female population we could see. Maybe this has to do with the good priced menu they offer: a salad, a soup and dessert. Very good indeed!
