“A+ meal with pairings, affordable”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

We had the chef's tasting with wine pairnings. This was a GREAT meal for the price. Expensive, yes-I believe about $150 p/p, but the food was just so unique and DIVINE. Well worth it for the cost. The dining area is quite formal, so we would have prefered a more laid back atmosphere, but overall--a great meal.

“Romantic restaurant perfect for a special occasion”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

My husband and I dined at Tocqueville to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The ambiance is wonderful, the service is attentive and professional and the food is superb! I had the cheddar frise salad and the diver scallops. Both were excellent. My husband had the grits and eggs for his appetizer with the duck as his main course. We had the assortment of sorbets which we also enjoyed. We highly recommend this restaurant.

“Favorite of All”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

So many restaurants; so little time. I've given up on trying every place. I still experiment, but on days when I know that what I want is a superb meal, in a beautiful setting, with perfect service--guaranteed--I go to Tocqueville. Beginning at its old location, next door, and then moving on to their elegant current surroundings, they have never failed me. Always exquisite food, perfectly prepared in just the right quantities. Beautifully presented. Graciously served. Wonderful wines suggested by brilliant sommeliers. Perfect for special occasions, romantic evenings, or just when you're in the mood to splurge, and luxuriate in a quiet, reserved and altogether lovely space. Sea urchin pasta and roast pumpkin risotto, both to die for. Wonderful.

“Stylish and Delicious”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

The best halibut I've ever had. Tables are a bit close together, but the room is reasonably quiet and very comfortable. The food was exquisite nouvelle cuisine, the service was professional and unintrusive. Good wine recommendations.

“Excellent Evening”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

I had a wonderful Valentine's day dinner with my wife at Tocqueville. We really enjoyed the choices offered in the three course menu offered on the occasion. Our appetizers were outstanding and the dessert/cheese were delicious. However, our main course was clearly the highlight of the evening; seared diver sea scallops and foie gras. We both had the same thing as we have similar tastes, but looking discretely at our neighbours showed us that other choices would also have been very good. We had an excellent service from everyone involved and they were very responsive to our requests (e.g. changing table). I look forward to our next visit to New-York City and a return to Tocqueville.
