What a wonderful meal! The room is gorgeous, the service more then excellent and the food- words cannot do any of the courses justice! We both had the sunchoke ravoli with butter poached lobster- gentle wonder on your tongue! We first had 3 small amuse bouche before the appetizers and one after. Then a wonderful selection of warm breads and butters! And the marvelous main courses! And the 7 desserts! And the considerate warm service! Very very expensive and very Great!

A truly amazing experience.

We had a table for 17:45 as being the only time we could get here on the day we wanted but we needn't have worried as the atmosphere was amazing as the place pretty quickly filed up.

The service was another level, and easily worth 6 stars. The staff were attentive, friendly, discrete and knowledgeable - simply perfect. They struck the perfect balance between assisting and staying away, allowing us to enjoy the wonderful, wonderful food. My wife and I both chose from the vegetarian menu, and could have eaten all night, such were the amazing flavours of this beautiful food.

Truly an experience - just about the perfect marriage of atmosphere, service and food imaginable, in one pretty perfect package. Expensive, but then what do you expect, and well worth it for the experience.

One of the best meals we have ever had. Tasting menu was excellent plus lots of extra chocolates, madelines, petit fours etc at the end of the meal. Service was fantastic too.

“Another 5 star review”

The place is just amazing as almost every review points out. We knew going in that the place was traditional French cuisine in a beautiful, conservative place. Everything was on point. The entire staff were so courteous and well trained. The sommelier made some unexpected and memorable recommendations. Of all the truly fantastic dishes we enjoyed, the scallops stood out the most. They should change the name because it is unfair to future scallops I will eat. I will never be the same. I can't say enough good things about Daniel. Do yourself a favor and dine here at least once in your life.

“One of the Best in NYC”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

We have eaten at all 1,2 and 3 Michelin Star restaurants in NYC and Daniel is certainly one of the best of the best. The ambience and decor of the restaurant is simply stunning and it is a treat to just sit in the restaurant and admire it for itself.
Service in the restaurant is faultless. On entering guests may check their coat with a staff member before moving to the reception desk where a very warm greating is provided. Another staff member will show you to your table and then 2 staff will assist in ensuring guests are properly seated. Your waiter for the evening will then assist with providing wonderful insight into the menu for the night. The detailed explanation of the menu will make any mouth water.
The food is exquixit. Al a Carte or fix prix are offered. We chose the fix prix and courses arrived seamlessly and each, explained by our head waiter, was a work of art and a taste sensation.
We chose to accompany each course with a recommended glass of wine (2 levels are offered and we chose the top level). The wine selected was a perfect foil to the food.
We have been to Daniel on each visit to NYC and recommend it to as a must for any foodie. It is not a cheap place but excellence is not cheap.
