“Worth it”
Reviewed January 22, 2014 via mobile

We were visiting NYC from Australia and decided to go here for our wedding anniversary. The food from the tasting menu was excellent as you would expect but the service here was special. Our waiter was top notch. They also added a couple of "special" touches for our anniversary. Very expensive (especially after converting into Australian $$) but worth every cent.

“By far the best”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

Daniel is by far the best restaurant in America. This is simply because the quality of the food, presentation, service is like nothing else. If you want to be blown away please try Daniel. If you go on a Saturday night you may even find Daniel himself walking around the restaurant greeting the patrons.

“Very good restaurant”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Excellent food and service. It is rated 3 Michelin stars. It's slightly pretentious compared to other 3 starred places, but it will cost less.

“Ne Plus Ultra of Fine French Food”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

This was ore than a meal - it was a sensory experience of sight, sound and taste. Four of us treated ourselves to one of the top 5 meals of all times. We appreciated that our server (Kevin - he was wonderful) didn't rush us or force the wine list on us - the service is BEYOND and when the "team" swoops down with each course, you just want to break into applause. Though the wine list is extensive with options at all price ranges, we opted for cocktails. But the food, oh the food (okay, cocktails were great too).

We all had the 3 course meal which though portions are French, between the 2 amuse bouche courses and the endless dessert (almost too much - the actual dessert, plus madelaines that melt in your mouth, plus the extra birthday dessert they brought out for me, plus the chocolate final/final course...), you won't leave hungry. The appetizers were exquisite - I thought the sunchoke ravioli with lobster won that round, but the lentil soup with quail and the ceviche were fantastic as well. Though I usually get fish, I decided to try the signature Daniel Wagyu Beef and Short Rib which was one of the tastiest morsels I've ever experienced. My friends had the black bass (fantastic), the pistachio encrusted scallops (beyond) and another fish dish - each dish was better than the next, truly. The pace was VERY leisurely (no one rushes you), the service attentive without being overbearing and the staff professional to the highest degree. On top of the birthday "extra," we were treated to a post dinner tour of the kitchen and Daniel's office so all in all, it turned out to be not only one of the finest meals we've ever had, but an experience that will live on. For your $125 prix fixe, I don't think you can get a better meal/service/experience than Daniel any where. The kitchen was super organized and professional, reflecting the great care and love that goes into every part of the meal. Indulge! Thank you to Kevin and all our servers who made this such an incredible meal/experience.

“What a Restaurant Should Be”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Excellent food, impeccable service, all in a very nice, proper setting and atmosphere. Highly recommended. The lounge seating option allows enjoyment of this wonderful dinning experience to those who prefer a true upscale casual attire, without the need to wear a jacket and tie, which are required in the more formal main dinning room.
