I have the opportunity to eat at johns over the years.
I have business meetings in the area on a regular basis.
The pizza is standard NYC pizza.
Which as a person is still saying a lot.
I was raised in NYC and am particular about pizza.
The location and pricing make johns a good place to go.

This is OK pizza. Just OK. Maybe if you've had to endure frozen supermarket pizza, or Pizza Hut, or Dominoes, or Chicago deep dish you might really love it. If you've spent any time in any of the 4 outer boroughs of NYC, however, you know what your eating: OK pizza.

Had a meal here before on show. Arrived at about 5:30pm, just before it place got busy. The service was friendly and quick. The pizzas were amazing and the price was very reasonable. If you're a pizza fan and visiting NYC you must give this place a try.

As a serious connoisseur of NYC pizza, I have had the best (Ray's of Greenwich Village, Little Italy Pizza in SoHo, Dominick's at Author Ave. in da Bronx, one in Brooklyn's Park Slope who's name I can't recall right now), a bunch of "middling to fair" slices, (too numerous to list). And then there's the "pits". John's Pizza, whether at 44th St. or in the Village has somehow managed to get a reputation for great pizza, which again as a serious connoisseur, makes me wonder how they ever pulled it off. Tasteless, (unless you like the flavor of cardboard in your mouth, thin to the point of absurdity, lacking in both cheese and tomato sauce, the profit margin on these slices should enable to not only send his kids to Harvard, but all his employees as well. In all fairness, John's is not the only bad pizza in NYC, but given the cult following he has, it is a standout for how such an inferior slice can garner such an amazing cult.

This is a go to place for great pizza in the Times Sqauare area. It had been an old church, so it is an interesting layout. The food is basic pizza/Italian food. All is fresh and delicious.
I would highly recommend.
