Despite the name, this is not a typical pizzeria. Rather it is a very large sports bar type restaurant (the bar is a centerpiece attraction) that focuses on pizza, though other dishes are available.
Ironically, despite being located in the heart of Manhattan, this place does not serve what is commonly known as New York style pizza. Instead it serves brick oven style pizza, which is totally different, though still tasty. However you can buy only whole pies; the waitstaff each wear shirts that say "no slices on the back."
The pizza we ordered was good, as was the cheese ravioli, though nothing remarkable. This is right by the theatre district, so it is a convenient place to eat before a show, and on a theatre night it starts filling up by 6pm. However, this is not a place that I would go to for a leisurely dinner or if I wanted a really good Italian meal.
