if you have'nt had Ethiopian cuisine before, this is the place to make a start. The food is different and delicious, they have a full bar and the service is good.

“Delicious and great service.”
Reviewed March 13, 2013 via mobile

We tried the platter with a bit of everything and ate it all between the two of us. We were stuffed! Our waitress was great, explaining to us what each of the different foods was.

Atmosphere was nice.

While in New York we wanted to experience a cuisine we wouldn't normally have access to in Orlando. Queen of Sheba turned out to be the place. The service was great, the servers were very friendly and attentive. The menu was varied, and the food was delicious! The place is small, though, so I recommend an early dinner, or you may not find a table right away.

“Great after-show experience”
Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

We wanted an African restaurant near Broadway and this looked like the closest. The staff were super-friendly, we had the sampler which was very good and just right to share. There was no coffee available after 10pm which seemed odd but otherwise we liked it and would go back again.

“Excellent Ethiopian restaurant on the West Side”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Queen of Sheba is an excellent Ethiopian restaurant on 10th Avenue in Manhattan. We had the vegetarian platter for two, which was an excellent choice. The injera in this restaurant is really wonderful. It's among the best we've ever eaten. Some of the dishes were ones with which we were familiar, but others were new and creative.

The restaurant is small, and you're sure to be seated close to people who you can hear, and who can hear you. If that really bothers you, you should look elsewhere, or eat at the restaurant during a quiet time.

Some reviewers have said that the restaurant is near the theater district. That's not exactly correct. If you look at a map of Manhattan, you'll see that when you walk along one of the avenues, the distance between streets is very short. However, when you walk between avenues, the blocks are really long. If you start at Sixth Avenue, and walk west, it will take you a long time to get to Tenth Avenue.

So, in my opinion, Queen of Sheba is outside the theater district. However, that's not necessarily bad news, because the restaurant has more of a neighborhood feel than a tourist feel. And, lower rents mean lower prices. This restaurant is not only good, it's a bargain!
