What a great show. Can't help but dance in your seat. Young Shlomo in particular is especially entertaining with his raw enthusiasm. I suspect this is one of many future runs on Broadway for Hayden Wall! Highly recommended. 10yrs + is best.

The cast, set, direction, choreography and musical journey make this small production a monumental explosion. The story of Shlomo Carlebach is a heartfelt story filled with humor and, of course, music. Everyone can relate to different aspects of the show.
All performances were stellar but I have to single out Josh Nelson for carrying the show as well as he did and Dan'yelle Williamson as Nina Simone. Dan'yelle is force to contend with. Her star will definitely rise in lights on Broadway.
For a theatrical experience outside the commerciality of Broadway - see Soul Doctor

My husband and I were planning to visit NYC when I heard that this story about the musical journey of Shlomo Carlebach was returning. My friend Josh Nelson was playing the lead, so I grabbed tickets. All I can say is, "WOW"!! The singing, dancing, scenery, and plot of the show kept us mesmerized. I was singing along, but my husband didn't know anything about Carlebach. He said it was one of the best shows he'd ever seen! Get your tickets and spread the word!

Everyone can find something to relate too in this show, no matter what your faith. The dialogue is witty and the message is upbeat. I left the theater thoroughly entertained and wanting to know more about the real "Soul Doctor".

This was a moving, powerful, funny and extremely entertaining show. We had front row seats and felt part of the performance that took us through a range of emotions as it told the story of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach's life, from a child in Vienna, to New York, his struggle to find himself and his music and his relationship with his family, especially with his father, and his religion

I went to see Soul Doctor and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a great mix of soul and what seemed like kleizmer music. The story of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and his transformation from an orthodox yeshiva boy to a rabbi who inspired thousands with his music and transformed Judaism at a religion. The show is inspiring, moving and filled with uplifting music.

Anyone heading to NYC now or in the future (or living there), don't miss Soul Doctor at Circle on the Square. It is a joyous production with great music, dancing and acting, plus a wonderful subliminal message. Small theater so you don't need the priciest tickets. Every seat is great! My 16-year old granddaughter and I loved every minute!

I wasn't familiar with Shlomo Carlebach's story and came away from the show learning about his
life and how he touched so many with his music. Nina Simone and Sholmo were incredible. The cast, dancers and singers, were energetic and terrific. The theater, a perfect venue for this show. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Soul Doctor is a musical that is essentially a Jewish story with a timeless message. Through the story of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach we begin to see that loving one's fellow man without judging him is a beautiful thing. We learn that one day this may help bring more humanity to this world rather than the inhumanity that is prevalent.

The music and acting were superb and I heartily recommend this show for people of all religions and races. His friendship and collaboration with Nina Simone transcended their differences and changed both of their worlds and ours.

See Soul Doctor and leave with a smile on your face and renewed hope for humanity.
