This is a small-ish out of the way spot. Very crowded for a cold Monday night in March. We were seated right away, although we were only given two menus for the three of us. The waitress took a little while to get to us, but once we got things on track we have an enjoyable dinner.

The place was full and quite boisterous, some might say lively. If you are looking for a romantic dinner, this is not the place for you.

We love Greek food, and were all pleased with our selections. I won't go into detailed descriptions, but suffice it say everything was excellent and left no room for dessert. It seems there are a ton of Greek restaurants in NYC these days. If you happen to be in the area Pylos is a great choice.

Was really impressed by the avgolemono soup which takes the original lemon soup and adds chunks of chicken breast and rice, making the best of both worlds. The saganaki is perfectly done, and even their traditional salad gets high marks. I had plenty to stop here but saw delicious whole fish entrees and nice looking desserts to try next time. Only issue is the wait for service and attention for water, any other needs, or to get your check. It's worth coming out of your way for the food, which outshines the service.

We visit NYC several times a year--and this restaurant has become a must because it is so delicious-last night we once again had superb service and a most fabulous meal-the very best 'greek salad'--greek sausages...and the lamb chops....a big wow! Can not wait to visit again in a few months.

After going here solo a couple of times, when we were visiting friends in New York over MLK weekend 2014, we decided to go to Pylos for dinner. We loved it, again, and they loved it, too.

Service was great. The waiter made great recommendations about the quantity of food to order, the dishes we might like, and the wines to order (based on non-Greek varietals that all of us liked). We thought all of his recommendations were on-point! We ordered several appetizers and three main courses to share, followed by 2 desserts. The entire meal was well-paced.

Not a single dish fell flat--EVERYTHING was good and loved by everyone around the table. Highlights included the saganaki, the horiatiki salad, the trio of dips, the pork shank, the meatballs, and the Greek yogurt dessert. Flavors were strong and well-balanced; portions were reasonable.

The ambience of this restaurant is great--small, festive, gorgeous (especially the clay pot ceiling). Made for a great, relaxing night out with friends...cannot recommend enough!

We ate here before going to a show and we absolutely LOVED it! The food was absolutely to die for. We had this awesome Greek red wine (course, they had all sorts to choose from). I would definitely recommend this place.
