Went for brunch on a Monday morning, and there were no lines or waiting. In an out with a group of 5 in less than an hour. The food was good, well presented, and really a good price, especially for NYC. Parking wasn't too hard either on the street. Muffins were ok, not great, but the eggs and home fries were good, fruit was fresh, and french toast looked good.

Eating here since the '60's. Remains just as good. Genuine Ukrainian and Russian food. Diverse crowd. Some old types still here

This is one of our favorite post Sunday morning swim brunches. It's a big place so there is rarely a wait and splurging on a blintz is a treat.

A friend took us to one of his favorite restaurants, Veselka. There was a 25 minute wait on this Friday night. Unfortunately we had to stand outside and it was coooold. The food was worth the wait. The borsht was delicious! I also ordered a salad which seemed bottomless. The dark beer was tasty. I am not sure if they were decorated for Easter or if the Ukrainian eggs high on a ledge are displayed year round. Between the waitress, the atmosphere, and the food, I felt submerged in ethnicity.

Get your blini and pirogues here. This old world style diner has been serving up eastern European comfort food for as long as I can remember. The prices are very moderate and the food good and filling. Nice staff.
