If you come here and endure the wait, the crowds, the hilariously snarky service and don't order the $22.00 pastrami sandwich you are missing everything! The macaroni salad too was so good that I'll think about both for a long time.

The chicken salad sandwich was delicious by any measure but after tasting the pastrami it felt like a misstep!

Can't wait to go back!

Still hand slicing their Deli meats! Everything is so fresh. Kosher style means you can get a Ruben sandwich here or cheese on on your sandwich. The pickles are still great. The place gets packed so go early. The corned beef and pastrami are on the thicker side because they are hand sliced but you won’t find meat more tender. Get a potato pancake too. Don’t forget the Dr Brown’s Cel-Ray Tonic to wash it down!

people there nice, sandwiches for corned beef a lot to be desired....dry and ....pastrami still good but had better there in the past, even the real rye bread so so. always super busy and great business but not as good as in the last 2/3 times before. also to pay with credit card going out is impossible you must go all the way to the back or pay cash...

We went for a quick trip as it’s an attraction, it gets v busy and the portions are huge. I wasn’t expecting the price ($23 for generally the cheapest) but then again you do get a lot of food. There is a waiter service and a queue up. The food is the same but you will get a table with the waiter service. I would recommend

Katz's Deli is an incredible place and I'm so glad I made the trip on a recent visit to NYC.

For those who haven't been before, ordering might not be so conventional, so here is a bit of a rundown.

I recommend going early. We went around 11:00AM on a week day and we didn't have to queue and there were plenty of tables available.

When you enter, all guests will be given a ticket. Do not lose this! This is how they mark down what you have ordered for your bill.

You will then progress to a numbered counter to order your meal. We ordered one pastrami on rye, which was enough for two people.

If you want drinks or sides, you will then move over to another counter. Then you can sit down and enjoy your delicious meal.

I can't explain how beautiful the pastrami is there. It so so juicy and flavoursome.

Once you finish, you bring your tickets and pay at the back (credit card) or front (cash).

Make sure you check out all the photos on the wall!

My only regret is not going to Katz's more than once during my trip. It was amazing!! A must do in New York City.
