We visited here for lunch, had planned this as a bit of film fan! So was really good to see the place from 'When Harry met Sally' and also a part of 'Enchanted'. The atmosphere is very local, with the odd tourist dotted amongst all the locals, police etc. The service was quick despite the long queue and make sure you follow their queuing and paying system - they probably get fed up with people not reading the signs - its not hard!
The food was huge, a meat sandwich and they seemed a little shocked that I didn't want pickles with it - apparently that's the way to it. The photo's on the walls are great to have a look at take in, some pretty famous people have roamed these tables. The staff all have a very large sense of family and we even managed to get a couple of photo's with them!
All in all, good lunchtime venue!

This place was everything we had hoped it would be. It still feels like the quintessential New York experience, and it is for sure worth a visit. Absolutely do not miss the pastrami sandwich on rye bread. This is the best one I've ever had.

They also sell dried sausages that you can take home with you. Not bad at all!

Was a bit surprised with the reviews. Figured that it would all be the same. But I guess it all depends on your expectations.

Katz's Deli is old school. Nothing fancy on the inside, just a lot of pictures of the place and big portion food. Our server was great. Polite, courteous and very to the point. No nonsense type of service.

Food was plentiful, large and flavourful. Sandwich was tough to finish but all in all, great sandwich and glad that I went. It is more on the pricey side with respects to other fast food restaurants in New York. But if you're going to say that you went to this landmark place, then go for it.

We totally enjoyed our visit to Katz's for a dinner meal while visiting NYC. There were 5 of us, a grandfather, mom and dad and two teens ages 13 and 15. There was a long line and a crowd but I suspect that it is often that way. We elected to have a waiter which is an option as they have a few tables reserved for people with that preference. We felt, given we were 5 people and there are few tables that sit more than 4 plus with the teens for which the whole dinner event was a new thing, that we would use a waiter. We waited about 10 min for a table to clear and were seated. The service was quick, friendly and good, especially given the dinner hour and the crowd. A couple of us had the pastrami sandwich. It was huge and excellent. I was surprised that I could finish it all. Others of us had salads and burgers. We also had fries which were tasty as well. All in all an "as expected" experience that was positive both in the quality of the food and the service. Kata's is a place not to be missed and is worth the short wait to get your food.
