“Worth a visit it's an experience”

So this is the infamous Katz Deli NY, it's impressive as you walk in as the walls are filled with photo's of all the famous people to visit here. From President Clinton to George Lucas. I had an egg omelette with fries and orange juice which was pretty nice, the pastrami here is to die for. Bit confusing as to how to order as lots of counters but the staff quickly send you where you need to go in proper NY City fashion. Definitely worth a visit even if the service is a bit impersonal

“Great experience”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

After having seen this place on several Food Network shows, it was pretty much my only reason to come to New York City. As expected, it was really crowded (avoid if you don't like a noisy and crowded food environment) but crowds were handled excellently. Instead of single-point ordering, you get a ticket (unless you choose waited service) and go to the different stations for different kinds of food you want. The portion sizes are mildly insane, so we split a half sandwich and matzo ball soup. Heavenly food. I don't normally eat beef and the pastrami was so good I had to eat some. The soup was phenomenal and light which is quite in contrast to the sandwiches. The staff were very friendly and efficient. A host walked around making sure that everyone was having a good time. It was wonderful.

Pro tip: don't buy drinks. A water and a can of pop ran us almost six bucks. Get water at the corner store after, your wallet will thank you.

“way too crowded at lunch but great breakfast”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

tried to go for lunch ... way too crowded but went for breakfast next day and it was lovely... we were the first ones there at 8am (had a 11am train to catch). the corned beef omelet was wonderful and really enough food for two people... fun to look at all the photos on the wall too.

“first time”
Reviewed February 24, 2014 via mobile

Well, honestly I had to see bec of the movie & bec of MVF. I had the corned beef, and it tasted good! Don't know what and how to order so I just had to have the basic.
Serving size was enough for 2 (we're asian),so we didn't have to order more.
Staff were accommodating & courteous!
