Although its right on 2nd Ave, inside it is a quiet French Bistro with an intimate atmosphere. Friendly staff that provides great service. Terrific Coq a Vin and a mic wine list. Eat like a native New Yorker in this neighborhood eatery because the tourist won't know about it.

This unpretentious restaurant offers great quality food for normal prices...this is rare in Manhattan! The Chef has been perfecting his art of food for many years to be able to offer a simple roasted chicken with fries that taste so simply good. Fresh, juicy, tasty to the point that one can be (almost) embarrassed to finish the whole plate! But who cares, if it's good, you might as well finish it! Of course, other great dishes are on the menu...I particularly like the Calf liver, and as an appetizer, the squid a la plancha are just delicious.

We appreciated the nice menu offerings of typical French Bistro dishes, especially the chance to
select a full or half portion. Appetizer plus a half portion entree proved sufficient to satisfy our appetite, especially when one of the delicious desserts is added. A side order of pommes frites was greedily consumed by all. Service was friendly and efficient, with opportunity to practice our "restaurant french" with the waiter who suggested an exceptionally good glass of white burgundy.
The only minus was the prices which even in New York seemed a bit inflated. Our meal with tax and tip came to about $67.00 per person.

This is a wonderful little French restaurant. We love the roast chicken but unfortunately we were not able to have dinner here this trip. We did the next best thing and went for brunch which was delicious.

Away from the glitz and the glamour it's refreshing to find this little gem I. The heart of Manhattan. The food is French but when you choose from the small or the large size of entree, it means European or American! As a Brit, I should have chosen the former but greed got the better of me and these fabulous scallops with a lobster sauce arrived to leave one was nothing short of criminal as they were delicious. My companion chose the steak which looked and tasted great - nothing left here! We went on Tuesday evening and the place was full so I would imagine booking is a must. It's not cheap but you can get a decent bottle of wine for a decent price. Would I go again? Yes, definitely.
