There are so many great restaurants in NYC, but not all are affordable. This Indian restaurant offers a great tasting menu with seven courses for $50. The food is prepared with care and is delicious, the service very friendly and attentive. This has been my third visit, and it won't be my last one to this restaurant. It is always busy, so book your table ahead.

Had a fab meal here on our last visit to NYC based on a friends recommendation.

This restaurant is small and has a real family meal. Food was great and very authentic.

Prices for wine and beer are very reasonable and you are only a short walk to 2nd Av for some pre or post dinner drinks.

We arrived for a late lunch, did not realize it at the time. We selected the two course meal. Each ordering delicious appetizer, of chili shrimp, and cochin crab cakes (the sauce for the crab cakes was delicious).
Each of us ordered a spicy entree, chicken vindaloo, chicken kolhapuri, and laal maas lamp. All of them were vibrant, and fresh .
The tables were set with white cloth table clothes and well appointed silver and glassware. The staff was attentive and courteous.
In summary, the lunch menu was extremely well priced for the quality of the food and atmosphere of Amma. A lunch we will not forget.

All of the food was well cooked. Especially liked the Goan shrimp.
We had a Raita, lamb Rogan Josh, Tandorri chicken and vegetables and biriyani. The lamb was the only average dish, every other was really good.

It was restaurant week in New York City, and I chose restaurants which were more international in flavors, and just the steak and eggs type places many Americans visit. I like Indian food, but I'm picky about quality ingredients. This restaurant served a wonderful prix fixe dinner with many options. When it came to desert, I asked for something off the menu, as I wanted the traditional Indian rice pudding. It was terrific. The whole experience at this restaurant was outstanding...from the service, food, to the packaging of extra items to take home. Kudos to the the staff and owners.
