I stumbled across this place as I was walking back from the UN on 49th street. Tucked away in a corner, sits the Bukhara Grill. The first site of an Indian Restaurant is enough to send hunger pangs in Manhattan....specially if its been ageas since you had one!
I walked in and was greeted with friendly staff and walked up where there was a fantastic buffet spread waiting for me! The ambience is very nice and the team is very professional. The buffet is good and starts with Indian street food classics like paani puri, aloo tikki chaat and then moving to a live vegetable grill and meat grill, followed by vaiours Indian pickles and sides. The main fare had a quite a few items from vegetables, to paneer, chicken and mutton along with a delectable dal bukhara. The breads were hot and fluffy and kept coming. The pulao was a definite try!
For desserts these guys had gajar halwa and rice kheer, which was just perfect. All in all the bill came to $18 and this is an all you can eat buffet. Try it....its good!
The only thing which I found odd was no wifi.....I hope someone's told them its 2014!!!
