“Amazing Experience”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Went here on our last night in New York. The way the inside has been decked out is so authentic. We actually felt like we were customers of an exclusive (albeit strange) backstreet club set in the 1880s. Our table was seated near portraits that came alive alongside other moving entities. The service was genuine and fantastic, the actors always stayed in character and the bar tender knew how to make a cocktail. Even our trip to the bathroom was an adventure, fumbling our way through a hidden door and library. I would highly recommend this place for a group of friends or a couple looking for a different sort of dining experience.

“Don't waste your money!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

This was a horrible experience. The food was overpriced, the service poor, and the entertainment was decorations on the wall! Our overall wait time to be seated and served was 3 1/2 hours. All this would have been somewhat ok, if we had live entertainment, but we didn't. Keep in mind an additional $3/person is added to your tab for the entertainment. We seriously ordered 2 salads, table water, and 1 steak dinner our daughters shared. Our tab was $101! I was so disappointed that I wanted to sign up with tripadvisor to write a review to warn parents not to get suckered in to attending this restaurant. Carmine's and the pizza place on the same block are both excellent restaurants and a much better value. We will never recommend or attend this place again.

“Go for the show not the food”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Found this restaurant on 44th street. Loved the secret entrance and the decor. The place was very entertaining. The displays that come to life every few minutes were great. Loved all the characters in costume. Our waitress was totally different.....she didn't introduce herself, her pen ran out of ink so she tried to remember our order. It tool her 3 tries to bring a coke that was drinkable. We waited over an hour for our food. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our food. The food was barely tolerable. Our waitress never came back to our table to ask if we needed anything or refill our drinks. We had to track her down to get our bill. Then we were charged a $3.50 per person entertainment fee on our bill. The food was definitely overcharged for quality. I would go for drinks and the entertainment.

“Not worth it”

There is no need to wait on a line to see crappy amniotronics and eat even worse overpriced grub. The bar in the village is passable the location by in midtown is a waste of good real estate.

“What Fun!!!”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

This is an adventure! Went here with 11 & 12-year old grandchildren, and we all had a ball!! Lots of "acts" - both animated & live, as well as all kind of interesting things to see all around the restaurant. Many costumed actors who roam around entertaining you as well. Food was good too!! Highly recommend this place!
