Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients.

“One of my favourite restaurant's in the world”
Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

I would live again in New York just to go for brunch every week end at Nougatine.

This place is wonderful!

First: location. You can have lunch with beautiful view on Central Park

Second: service. Just amazing!

And of course: the food is unbelievable.

Jean Georges is great and I'm so glad I got to discover this wonderful place! I recommend thousand times

“Excellent for breakfast”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Overall good experience, with excellent food.
Atmosphere is lacking a bit and two waiters were 'arguing' a little in Spanish about something, which was just plain rude.
There also seemed a lot of management staff just wondering through the restaurant into a room near the kitchen, it felt like we were sat in the staff entrance area.
Food itself was faultless, fresh tasty juice, excellent omelette and eggs Benedict and great granola and yoghurt.
The young male manager on duty was extreme attentive. He was not around when the waiters were quibbling about who was doing what in Their own language.

“Not as good as I would have expected...”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

The Nougatine is a smaller restaurant located at the entrance of Trump Hotel at Columbus Circle. The restaurant ambiance is rather nondescript and plain. Certainly more casual than the main Jean-George restaurant at the same location.

The service staff is very attentive and did a great job explaining all the menu choices and addressed and anticipated all our dining needs. They were wonderful.

The cocktails were good and included a large selection of signature drinks.

We chose the tasting menu. Our tuna tartare was delicious in a wonderful ginger sauce and was beautifully presented. The crunchy baked organic chicken was pedestrian at best. The crust seemed overbaked, and the dish was not impressive, like something you would eat at a large catered event. The warm chocolate cake and ice cream dessert was delicious.

“disappointed”

I was hoping for all the Jean Georges atmosphere and it was not there. The food is good but I was expecting a better presentation.

“nice treat”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

my wife took me out to this restaurant this past week, i loved their tasting menu , especially sub $100 price tag... at a restaurant like that 5 course tasting menu with a couple extra complimentary dishes, it is an amazing price. also there was no requirement to match the tasting menu. my wife decided to go a la carte.

i strongly recommend their beef sirloin, and tuna tartar is pretty good. we also tried a couple coctails, they didnt impress me, cant think of the name now, but it was citrusy.. but their black-cherry yuzu soda is amazing, i mixed it with vodka and vola... give it a shot...

atmosphere was great, you could see the kitchen, and staff was friendly and nice.
