Fresh homemade Korean food, self serve, cold and hot vegetables, lots of kimchi and other fermented vegetables, the mushrooms were delicious! I had the shredded beef and baby bok choy, a taste of a bbq pork tidbit...over cooked..but every thing else was very good. Others were enjoying their soups as well. Also, boxed items easy to grab n go. I would go back.

An excellent place to get cheap Korean food. A perfect place to get really good Korean food to go, perfect for a picnic! They both have a buffet and a large number of cold and warm dishes ready to go. You pick your food and drinks and pay at the counter, quick and friendly service. You can also eat at the restaurant. Not fancy but nice atmosphere. Quite crowded most of the time.

Of course the food does not have the same quality as at a restaurant where you sit down and order from a menu. (Although I think you can order from a menu too.) But for the price, the food is truly excellent. Well cooked, fresh and nice flavors. If you are traveling on a budget, it's the best place for Korean food!

Korean food, cafeteria style??? A first for me---I've lived in Korea, eat Korean at least once or twice a month (and I'm not Korean), and NEVER had Korean food this way. You get a tray, start loading food onto a plate, pick out soups, specials, etc., and then it's weighed. Although Korean food can be spicy, even my kids loved it. Won't replace a proper sit-down meal or the social experience of cooking at the table, but in a pinch it is a short walk from the Empire State Building and will inject some flavour into your day!! If you want a regular Korean restaurant experience, there's lots of options close by...

If you're traveling New York on a budget and are looking for a cheap Korean place, this place isn't bad. It's a buffet-style take-out place with indoor seating and a nice selection of Korean take-out. You pay depending on the weight of your food so just be careful. It doesn't get so bad though. My sister and I spent around $13 for two separate boxes that were enough to satisfy us.

It's a very nice environment though and you can tell a lot of the people that come here are regulars or locals. It's also in a nice place in Korea town. If you're looking for a less casual dine-in restaurant, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's good if you're traveling with friends and just want to chill and eat cheap food though. Food is warm and not half bad considering the price. There's also a microwave if you want to heat anything up.

introduced to Woorijip by a friend of mine, now become a favorite every time I crave for Korean food with friendly price. the pay-by-pound 6.99/lbs ala carte is a very great combo. they offer lots of selection in a very good price. kimchi fried rice for $3.50, now there is something! :) it can get a little crowded after 5PM but it does not last long though.
