Carpaccio appetizer very good, Caesar salad bland and not very tasty. No taste of lemon, olive oil, garlic or anchovies. Doesn't leave much for a Caesar salad then does it. Main course of Chicken Francese was ok, no complaints but the presentation was weak. Desserts of Creme Caramel was great but the Italian cheese cake was dry and kind of chalky. Cocktails however are a different story. Generous drinks, and very very fairly priced for Manhattan. Example: Glenlivet 12yr old Scotch was $10. Typically in NYC its about $16+. Great service but food left me a little disappointed from the first time I had been there. Nonetheless I will return as the balance between food quality and price seems to work itself out.

Went there with friends who happen to be regulars. My Salmon special was fantastic and cooked perfectly. Peter, who appeared to be the owner, was very attentive to our every question and need. The portions were generous and the drinks were reasonably priced. A great place to eat and a great value. We intend to go back and try more of their dishes.

Yum. Visited in jan 2013. Good italian at good prices. Homemade raviolli and pollo special were great. They also had a $20 multi course option but we didnt try. Atmosphere was quaint and nice with the fireplace burning. Good service. Our table wobbled and the staff took the time to fix it before we sat town. The little things count. We would recommend if you are staying in murray hill area. Ps not sure what the brand was but the limon chello is a great way to end the evening

I order food or eat at Notaro's at least once a week. It is a fantastic little neighborhood gem. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are large and always tasty. If you are in the neighborhood and need some good old homestyle red sauce Italian, this place is a must visit.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. The caprese and pastas were perfect. I was able to get a red wine from Montepulciano as well, which I can't find easily in my hometown. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and efficient.

FYI the owner, who also tends bar, makes a fabulous negroni cocktail.
