Description: Abigael's on Broadway is a casually elegant, two level restaurant graciously accommodating up to three hundred and fifty guests. The menu offers an array of globally eclectic American fare, Latin comfort foods and Sushi & Pan Asian specialties that are surprisingly, deliciously Kosher.

Attended dinner at Abigael's last week with several business colleagues who keep Kosher. The restaurant itself is very nice, with a welcoming entrance level and sushi bar, and an expansive lower level downstairs. The lower level is nice and fresh, but perhaps a bit sterile. Nothing to complain about, but it does contrast with the main level.

Service was offered promptly and was friendly. My only complaint is that the attentiveness was uneven. Several times we had to motion to get our server's attention for drinks or when another of our party joined late. Nothing major at all, but service could be refined just a bit in terms of attentiveness during and between courses. All food and beverage was delivered correctly and in a more than reasonable timeframe.

The food itself was good to excellent. I have dined at a number of Kosher restaurants previously and am confident that this is the most diverse and interesting menu I have ever seen in a Kosher establishment. Kudos to the chef and management for being able to present such variety. I ordered the mushroom soup, which was excellent if just a hint underseasoned. My entree was the cedar plank salmon, done exactly as I requested and completely delicious. Desserts included tiramisu, which was quite good, and several others which were satisfying. All parties enjoyed their meals and requests were delivered correctly. The wine list is extensive, as well.

A great evening!

Thanks so much for your detailed description of your recent visit to Abigael's. We really appreciate your kind and conscientious attention to detail. One of the best compliments we can get is from our non-kosher guests, who enjoy our food and service as much, if not more, than dining in non-kosher establishments. We really enjoy the work we do, and are delighted that our staff provided a great evening for you and your guests. Thanks too, for mentioning what could be improved upon. We'll certainly go over it with our team members. We look forward to having you back with us again soon!

This was my second visit here in the last two years; the first was excellent.
On this outing, between Christmas and New Years, the place was packed and the music on the lower floor was really loud.
This was one of the few times that service was so uneven and sporadic that I finally wore out and just wanted to bail out--the check was an end I hoped for.

We were really looking forward to an exceptional meal, only to sit in a basement. Had to go down three flights of stairs, there is an elevator, but the building was locked. The food was ok, ( no matzoh ball soup) not the quality we were expecting. My husband and I had a Caesar Salad before the entree and they use bagged croutons. After finishing our meal and going back upstairs we see a B rating on the window. Sorry to say we will not be returning!

Thanks for taking the time to share your concerns about your recent visit. It distresses us that you did not enjoy the fine food and ambiance we are known for. Please note that we rarely serve traditional Jewish foods like the Award Winning Matzo Ball Soup, which we only offer during Passover. Instead we pride ourselves on our globally eclectic foods, that just happen to be kosher. Let me assure you that the croutons on the Caesar Salad are made in-house and are not the bagged variety.

As one of the largest restaurants in New York City, we've been in this bi-level location for nearly 15 years. Recently renovated, the lower level has been a city favorite for a long time. And still, many of our guests choose to sit in the street level dining room, peering out at the Broadway Promenade.

While it concerns us that there is a B rating in the window, please be assured that this in no way reflects on the cleanliness or high quality experience we provide. The NYC point systems rarely denote what the infractions are to the public. Unfortunately, once the fines are paid, it still takes several months for the usual A rating to be replaced.

I hope that at a later date you will have an opportunity to join us for the fine food and service we are recognized for.

We ate here two nights ago for our anniversary, and everything was great. The Brazilian Steak and the strawberry apple Duck salad were unbelievable!
The frozen Strawberry Pina Colada in a huge Martini glass was the Kicker!!
Thank you Abigail's for a great evening!

One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in. Very surprised by the variety offered. This is much more than just a kosher restaurant - japanese, thai, steak - everything was amazing.
