Serving authentic and upscale Mexican cuisine, including fresh guac, killer margaritas, and South of the Border staples like Asada Tacos and Mexico City-Style quesadillas. The tequila and margarita menu is one of the most robust of its kind. “Dos” has single-handedly redefined Mexican for Americans. “Best guacamole and fun atmosphere”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

I could survive on their guacamole alone. Super fresh and great quality avocado. Then drinks-the tequila list amazing and the staff is pretty knowledgeable even if you're not. They suggested Riazul which was a great tequila neat and then a spicy margarita we liked. Gets packed on Friday and Saturday.

“Mediocre and Overpriced”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

In New York City, where just about any type and style of food one desires is available, a number of Mexican restaurants can also be found. Among them is the popular Dos Caminos.

Lunched today at Dos Caminos's Park Avenue branch with a business colleague. Started with an order of guacamole ($14.00) which we shared. Followed with Dos Enchiladas $19.50) and Smoked Brisket Stacked Enchiladas ($22.00) as our mains.

The food, sorry to say, was pedestrian at best. Portions are shamefully small for the excessive prices charged. Frankly, eating Mexican food in New York City is not the best of choices, because it's next to impossible to find the quality and creative preparation & presentation of "south of the border" cuisine that one experiences in California, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas, no less in Mexico. Better off going for French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, etc., etc., etc.

All of that said, if you really have an insatiable yen for Mexican, much better to take a drive north to Mt. Kisco in Westchester County and have lunch or dinner at Hacienda La Paloma. The trip is well worth it, because you'll find (and enjoy) what I think is the best and most authentic Mexican in the entire New York City metro area.

“Friendly service and decent Americanized Mexican”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

These Mexcians are decent spots for an Americanized experience. They used to do guac tableside but no more. I came to this one on Park Ave South on a Saturday pm and it was more or less empty - nice! There were four of us. We had the two avocado guac which I want to say is $24 (crazy!) that was accompanied by an abundance of chips and salsas. My friends had two egg dishes - one in a small, cast iron pan that had potatoes in it and the other was the smoked salmon benedict. I had the tuna ceviche which was quite spicy. Brunch entrees came with a drink or two - I think one hot and one cold. Service was very friendly!

“Solid mexican food, meat packing branch is your better pick”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

Solid good mexican food. Ordered the skirt steak which is one of my dos com favorites. Always comes out well. Gauc helping was super small. Ambiance just average, the meat packing branch is your better bet.

“Great tacos”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

Ate here in September on our second night in New York. The restaurant was quiet and so we had no problem getting a table without a reservation. We both had soft tacos with rice and beans. All the food was delicious and would certainly recommend a visit
