It has been a while since I went to Cafe Centro. The Prix Fixe was excellent. I had a green market garden salad, hanger steak and toasted almond torte for dessert. If you're a wine drinker, I would go for the wine pairing for an extra $18 which is well worth it. The waiter is very courteous and service is great.

Grand Central is mostly empty on Saturday and Sunday, which is connected to this restaurant. A great choice before or after viewing the GCS constellations for delicious food and very efficient service, or just their extraordinary cakes and cookies. Prix fixe is a bargain for NYC, especially on Saturdays.

Near Grand Central, Café Centro offers fine prix fixe dinners and excellent service. The waiter mistook my order for duck and brought a small filet, which was replaced courteously and immediately. My companion had lamb tagine which was well-balanced in flavor and not too spicy. The $29 Saturday prix fixe dinner is quite a bargain. The cookie plate was lovely and enough for two. The regular wine list is relatively small, but adequate. We'll be back

When you walk by this place may not look like the jewel it is but do go in! Our waiter, Eric, was courteous, helpful and just the best. His recommendations were right on and paired with a fabulous French red wine. Will definitely come back. Winner!

Very pleasant decor and ambiance, and the banquettes are very spacious and welcoming. We had the frisée salad and the crab cakes. The salad was delicious; the crab cakes were fresh, though the sauce underneath had a rather unpleasant buttery smell. The only disappointment was with the tiny amount of wine they pour into tiny wine glasses for which they charge $11 and $12.
