Tried this classic North Italian restaurant a sunday evening around 8 and got a very nice table for 5 close to the piano. Seems like a bar from the road, but behind the bar it reveels a clasic Italian place with waiters in penguine suits. We got a tremendous service from the staff, and our 5 yrs old got served his traditional bolognese after a few minutes while the rest of us where served drinks - impressive! They have a good variety of traditional Italian - we tried the lasagna of the day, a pesto pasta and a grilled the chicken, in addition to a crispy salad. All tasted delicious and were served very quikly - accompanied by a recommended red Tommassi that matched the food perfectly. The price is acceptable and the piano music made it to a very nice evening.

A friendly welcome, lovely table, male and female opera singers, a pianist, great food , great wine, great service, and a reasonable bill.
It was like I'd imagined a proper italian/american restaurant should be, I'd highly recommend rossinis for a unique dining experience.

Lovely old style Italian restaurant with a nice atmosphere. No drinks/wine menu provided and a glass of wine while good quality was pricey at $14 with a small/medium bottle of fizzy water $12. There is complimentary iced water served. I very much enjoyed my simple pasta with tomato sauce, my husband found has chicken dish somewhat salty. A little over priced in general.

In 1984 my boyfriend took me to Rossini's on my very first visit to NYC. Well, we just returned last weekend , April 5, 2014. 30 years later, 28 years of marriage , two sons (25 and 24). Should not have waited so long. Wonderful , warm, lovely staff, great food, quiet atmosphere. We should not have waited 30 years. Highly recommend this restaurant for 1St date. WORKED FOR US!!!!!

We had dinner here one night during a short stay in New York and were very happy with the choice barring one thing. We had initially gone to the bar (very nice) for drinks having 2 bottles of Budweiser each which we asked to be put on the bill. I suppose it's our fault for not checking beforehand but these 4 bottles came to $32.
Apart from that we had a very good meal with commensurate service and would happily go back, forewarned and forearmed. It was the restaurant we went to that most met our expectations of what a New York restaurant would be like.
