“Great food, fantastic sake selection”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

It is definitely one of the hidden gems in NYC! The decor of the restaurant is nice and cozy. We group of four managed to sample a lot of plates, and every single one of them tastes different and wonderful. No need to mention their unmatched huge selection of sake. Would definitely recommend to other friends

“Super fresh fish of various preparations, saki and beer”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

This is a wonderfully fresh meal of tofu salad($9),Sashimi ($53) platter, minowamon saki(1/2 carafe $72), draft Sapporo beer ($8/glass),Salmon Donabe ( $22), Gindara ($10), Ebi sticks ($9) and goma brulee ($9). Not cheap but service was excellent, too.

“Excellent discovery”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

One of our best discovery in NY. Everything was excellent: a rare hidden gem in NY. Something maybe was a little bit expensive but i suggest it without any doubt.

“Fantastic food, drink and atmosphere”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place at the recommendation of friends. Went to a show at Lincoln Center and then headed here. I love how it's tucked out of the way and the decor was amazing. Loved the sake vat bathrooms. We tried at least 5 of the different hot and cold dishes and all were delicious. Unfortunately we both were feeling under the weather and couldn't stay as long as we wanted to. We tried the sake at the waitresses recommendation - he loved it and ordered more but I guess I'm just not a sake person at this stage :) Will definitely go back and stay longer!

“Have You Tried Sakagura's New Lunch Kiosk?”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

On the first floor of the same building where Sakagura is, a soft opening of a kiosk opened up. They have about four bento take outs which are made at Sakagura. I had the fish bento and it was quite good. It's on the right of the elevator and a guard will ask where you are going but just tell him you are going to the kiosk. It is a small place but compared to the bentos at other places, I enjoyed this one though the selections are limited. Haven't tried the restaurant but deciding whether to try this place or next door Soba Toto.
