“streamlined sushi experience”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

This is not the restaurant to go to if you want fusion or fashion or fancy cocktails. This is a restaurant that has simple excellent sushi. There are no eclectic appetizers or funky rolls, there is just incredible pure fish. The only alcohol options are sake, beer and pinot grigio. We opted for the chef's recommendations for our table and it is probably the best sushi experience I have ever had- I highly recommend it.

“Pure but pricy”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

The sushi is very pure as this restaurant sets out to be. However the dishes lacked a little imagination. Some of the fish was not the freshest I would expect which was very surprising. Nonetheless the food was excellent. Atmosphere reflects the menu.. A little bland.

“Still 5 star”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

This is my second visit and the sushi and sashimi are just incredible! The only negative point is that they make it complicated to book a table. You have to call, get a reservation number, then call again... a bit irritating. Still the best sushi place ever. Watch out... They do not accept TIPS!!! As it isn't a Japanese custom. They accept reservations 1 month in advance max.

“Better than Tokyo?”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

After living in Japan for years and then recently watching a tv show where Anthony Bourdain retorted to someone that claimed you couldn't find good sushi in New York by saying something to the effect of "you can find better sushi in New York City than you can in Tokyo" we were on a mission to find out where. Sushi Yasuda left us feeling victorious. We had to drop $300 to eat enough (without drinks) but tried about a dozen different types of fish, all of which were the best sushi we had ever had. White King Salmon is my new favorite.
