Located on West 54th street just off 7th avenue is the gem that is The Old Castle. Located close to our hotel we wandered the short walk down here several mornings during our stay. The waitresses were friendly and made is feel welcome. The Irish breakfast was among the best i have had. We returned one evening for dinner and the food is fantastic, the beer was cold and my girlfriend enjoyed a variety of great cocktails prepared by the chatty barman. Great dining experience and we will return here again. The real bonus of this place is it has all the Irish Gaelic football games also. The food is on a par with The Stage Coach Tavern located just around the corner on 7th Avenue is also well worth a visit for a great evening meal.

My boyfriend and I just experienced our first trip the New York City. We were wandering the streets of Manhattan when we saw an Irish Pub, our favorite kind of spot. We had been warned before we got into town to be prepared to spend quite a bit of money if we were planning on drinking in Manhattan. We sat down we were greeted by a wonderful young man, Dean, who kept the drinks flowing as we were on vacation we weren't too worried about the tab. To our surprise it was A LOT less than expected, apparently they do this wonderful thing called Happy Hour. On our second day we decided to travel back to the Pub twice once during the day and again at night to visit Dean.We stopped by on Friday for breakfast before jumping on the subway over to the bronx to the yankee game, the food portions for breakfast are huge and it's a great value for your money. I have been in the restaurant and bar business for a very long time. I can tell you I was beyond surprised at the feeling of home and comfort the staff at The Old Castle offers. Dean is by far one of the best bartenders I've ever encountered. The female manager whom we encountered was extremely nice as well. If you're looking for a hometown comfortable feel in a big city where you feel comfortable to return and they will remember you in a city of millions, this is the place. We thank you for our wonderful experience and making our first trip to new york amazing.

NYC has lots of take-away deli options, but we were looking for a sit-down restaurant on our way to MOMA. This one has a limited menu but the food was very good and it was a perfect option for a Monday morning breakfast location.

Super varied menu. We had pasta and pizza, with a couple of cocktails. Great friendly service, lovely environment. Worth seeking out - you won't be disappointed.
