“Still perfect after many years”

I love Orso and try to go there whenever I am in the theater district. I love their liver, there is none other like it anywhere. It's still the finest dining in the area.

“Better Than It Needed To Be”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Restaurant row in the theater district is always busy. Even so-so places get a brisk tourist business pre- and post-theater. So, while the reviews of Orso are generally good, to be honest, I took them with a grain of salt. I should have had more faith. Despite a solid pre-theater crowd, the service was attentive and the food delicious. I would not hesitate to make it a regular stop.

“Cosy Italian eating in the theatre district”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Had dinner here a couple of evenings in October while visiting New York. A comfortable and cosy restaurant just below street level in restaurant row. Stylish decor. A good range of Italian food, from pizzas to more exotic, accompanied by an interesting wine list. Reasonable price for the location and good service. Oddly, they seem to have a policy of not actually pouring wine into your wineglass – not a showstopper, but unusual for a restaurant of this quality. You can have a more relaxed occasion if you time your reservation for just after the departure of the theatre crowd to their various performances.

“Very Nice”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

My wife and I recently visited Orso on a Friday Night for dinner after the 8pm show rush. It was a very nice experience, by no means the tops in any category but a solid meal on all accounts.

“Forget Everywhere Else”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

When you're going to the theater in New York. Make a reservation a week before you go and hit Orso, not one of the more touristy or overpriced restaurants in the area. Better yet, live a little and go after the theater. You'll get home later, but you'll be happy. The food is good and the house wine is the best in the city.
