“Home cooked Greek”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Uncle Nick's is for everyone - young and old. It's not a glamorous place but you could be sitting somewhere in Greece at the wooden tables listening to local music in the background. And the food is "cosy" and "comfortable". It's not cordon bleu but that's the charm. My swordfish steak was large enough to share and it was cooked to perfection. The accompanying side veggies were delicious especially the lemon baked potatoes. I started off with a very garlicky tsatsiki and warm pita. The bill including wine came to $37 per person including tip.

“Greek food w/Taverna feel in Hell's Kitchen”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

This restaurant was able to accommodate 54 of us (a tour group) w/well prepared basic Greek dishes (chicken kebab, beef kebab, salad, gyro (lamb) and baklava) in a family-style setting w/little fuss. The food was very good. My friend and I liked it so much, and it was so close to our hotel, that we returned the next evening. I had the lemon soup as well as the salad. The food was as good as the night before, and the service was very good. The prices were very reasonable.
It is within walking distance of the theater district, Madison Square Garden, The Empire State Building, and The New Yorker Hotel.

“Average Greek cuisine....”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

The food is fine, the service makes you feel like they want you in there to eat and leave...
Kind of like they would pitch the food at you if they could. Also it looks a bit dirty and the restrooms are pretty nasty.
It definitely has a neighborhood joint feeling... but you really could do better in this neighborhood with so many great food options!

“Neighborhood OK”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Uncle Nick's is a Greek cuisine restaurant with a diverse Greek menu. The delivery of service is efficient - not overly friendly but that is not necessary. The items themselves were fine - but in a city with a wide range of choices, not anything to come back for. The main attraction is probably its neighborhood feel.
