We went to this restaurant solely based on the comments at Tripadvisor and were disappointed. We chose a time between pre and after theater dinner. Made reservations and it appeared that they did not have it. Did not even look at the reservations book. It was crowded and loud, which I do not usually mind but one of the reason we went was because there was a review that it was quaint and with Sinatra music in the background and the owner would go through the tables. Well the apparent owner went around to a couple of tables and then spent what appeared to be the rest of the night in this one table and there was no way to hear whether or not there was music. The food was a bit bellow average, at best but I have to say that the capresse was quite good. The linguini al vongole, on the other hand, was bland and did not taste like anything. The chicken parmesan was just plain. Service was ok but they had to go through and on top of us to get to an adjacent table and through another table and on top of those to get to us. Not the waiters' fault though. Honestly, with so many Italian restaurant in NYC, I will try others the next times around.

We were hoping to have a nice italian meal and went to this restaurant based on a recommendation by the Concierge at the Westin Times Square. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant we felt we were being rushed. Started with the Amarone salad, poor choice. Our main courses and dessert were just OK. We wanted wine by the glass and were offered a list of wines with no descriptions (maker, region it was from....) I assume they were all house wines??not sure but the Chianti was less than pleasant to drink.

We had a reservation (recommended!) before our Broadway show. The place was packed, and we were sitting at a 2-seats-made-3-seats table. Not to say: tiny. But the staff was very attentive, making the “tiny” being “comfy”. The food was very tasty, and well-portioned (read: you can finish your plate without hating yourself). We had Scalloppine al Gorgonzola, Capellini Di Giovanni, and Fettuccine “Portofino”. Mine was very good, and based on the empty plates at the table, so were the others. And being two blocks off Broadway, not many tourists either in the dining room. And all the staff (including the manager) were definitively Italians. Recommended.

This Italian gem of a restaurant is one of four in this restaurant company: Luna Piena, Tramonti, Azalea, and Amarone. A waiter-friend back home knows the owner and referred our group to have dinner there. We were received warmly, and with very personable hospitality. Excellent food, impeccably clean establishment, white linen table service, professionally dressed waiters, all of whom work together seamlessly, and in synchronized fashion, to make one's dining experience truly familial and enjoyable. This restaurant and its staff operate like a Swiss watch (or, should I say, Italian watch?) There is a little bar in front that opens to the outside, and a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. I highly recommend a visit to Amarone Ristorante when in New York City. There is a website at www.amaroneNYC.com, but you will be redirected to the company website when signing in.

Over the weekend we had dinner at Amarone. So glad we went there. The food is delicious and the service is great. Grilled Portobello mushroom was great, the stuffed artichoke as well. Black Fettuccine with seafood and Filetto di Maiale was the best I've ever had. The manager and the staff was very attentive and very professional - one word the best Italian food we had in NYC.
